Teen Wolf Mom and Son Moment Fall in Love Again
Teen Wolf's Derek Hale has arguably been on the most desperate journey of all of our favorite characters. And this simply makes us love him even more than.
About 'Teen Wolf'
MTV'south Teen Wolf is loosely based on the 1985 picture of the same name. In this version, all the same, Scott McCall is typical high school student in Buoy Hills. He doesn't become the Teen Wolf until he is bitten by an alpha werewolf. During the offset flavor of the bear witness, Scott (played by Tyler Posey) has to learn how to handle his new found powers and how they affect his life.
With his new powers, of course comes new danger. He must learn how to go along his new identity equally a werewolf a hole-and-corner so that werewolf hunters don't discover him. Likewise equally the dangers that come up from other werewolves and supernatural creatures.
Information technology's not too long into Teen Wolf before Derek Hale is introduced. He's a natural born werewolf and as well a Beta, information technology'due south after revealed that his uncle Peter Hale was the one who bit Tyler in hopes of building a new pack. Despite his rocky human relationship with Scott, he serves as a mentor for the younger werewolf throughout the series.
Meeting Derek Hale
When nosotros first met Derek Hale in flavor one, we weren't quite sure what to make of him. Was he good or bad? Did he truly take Scott'due south best interests at heart? In retrospect, we at present know he was a little misguided, but he was never a bad guy. That title is reserved for his uncle, Peter Hale, who was the Big Bad of the show's premiere season (and continued to be a thorn in anybody'due south side).
Derek didn't trust anybody, least of all Scott, who appeared to exist a wildcard later on he was bitten by Peter. Derek continuously kept secrets from Scott and urged him to break off ties with Allison because her family was total of werewolf hunters. Given his past dealings with the Argents in item, this is no surprise.

By the time season two rolled around, Derek was an Alpha, and he began to build his pack. He started with Jackson (though that didn't go according to programme), and continued to grow via Isaac, Erica, and Boyd. Scott remained on the outskirts, despite Derek'due south attempts to bring him into the fold.
In season 2, Derek's main concern was stopping the Kanima past whatever means necessary. It didn't matter if it was one of Scott's friends, like Lydia or Jackson. He felt the brute was too dangerous to exist and had to be put down. Nearly the terminate of this season is where Derek began to come to the realization that though Scott didn't have a pack of werewolves on his side, he had a pack nonetheless. For someone who grew up in a traditional werewolf family, that must accept been quite a revelation.
Season 3A brought a new dynamic to the testify — Derek's sis Cora had survived the fire. Clearly this was an immense relief to Derek, since the only other family member still live was his crazy uncle Peter. Cora didn't terminal long on the prove, having gone back to South America by the end of the outset 12 episodes, but her presence was the goad needed to explain Derek'south troubled past with Paige and really move him onto a different path.

This is particularly apparent at the end of season 3A when, later everything he had gone through to gain his Blastoff condition, Derek gave it all up to save his sister. "I don't care about power," he tells Peter. "Non anymore."
Season 3B gave the states much more of Derek as a Beta. It definitely didn't make him whatever less lethal, and it did wonders for his personal life. In this season, Derek was able to talk to his mother (yep, his dead female parent), who assured him Scott was meant to be Beacon Hills' savior. Derek was however there to help him, of class, merely he institute his lot in life as a Beta, and information technology made him so much more Zen than nosotros ever could have hoped.
This flavor as well saw Derek making peace with his past and learning to trust more than he ever had before. His relationship with Chris Silver was a highlight of the back terminate of this run, and watching him inspire the twins to fight alongside Scott and his pack will never get old.
Season 4 focused heavily on Derek and his journeying as a character on this show. It began with him being captured past Kate Argent of all people, and slowly losing his powers. Luckily for him, Braeden was there to teach him how to wield a weapon other than claws. Considering of Derek, too equally Scott, Braeden learned to trust the grouping and remember of more than only herself and her need to survive.

Most importantly, however, was Derek's concluding transformation. At the end of flavour four, he is wounded and appears to be dead. However, he comes back stronger than e'er and with the ability to transform into a total-fledged wolf. This special trait doesn't happen to just anyone, and when we wait back on how far Derek has come from season one and his driving demand to obtain and maintain Alpha status, it'south no wonder he was able to grow into the blazon of person who would be able to do this.
Derek Hale'southward catastrophe
Though Tyler Hoechlin was no longer a recurring character in flavor five, season 6 saw a render to grade — at least partially. Subsequently i of Teen Wolf's iconic entrances, we saw him meet up with Chris Argent, a friendship that had continued to develop into something surprising and special over the years. This comes after seeing that the FBI are most certainly after him.
The terminate of season half dozen saw Derek turned to stone by the Anuk-Ite afterwards information technology appeared in the form of Jennifer Blake, but after Scott defeated the creature, Derek was released and we saw him and the others walking off into the moonlight.
For many people who were concerned about what sort of role Derek would play in the concluding season, the fact that he survived until the end and decided to stick around with Scott and the others was more than than a delightful surprise.
